Lipstick Candy- Gerard Cosmetics Review

Tuesday, October 14, 2014
I'm SO excited to blog about these lippies I literally just pulled out of the mailbox. Awhile ago I started following Gerard Cosmetics on instagram and like any other beauty and makeup maven, this means you get sucked into product marketing, a lotBut before you go pointing fingers and say I'm a shopaholic (i will go ahead and admit it as well as say, these were an absolute steal). For the month of October Gerard Cosmetics is having a sale (cue enchanting music) and it's not just any sale... you can purchase 5 of their lipsticks for only $45. I know this may seem like a lot but each lipstick is $9/each and if you shop around- you know drugstore brand lipsticks are about the same price these days.

back (left): Nude, Fire Engine, 1995 / front row: Tequila Sunrise, All dolled Up
Packaging: Each lipstick is in a gold bullet tube, simple + sleek on any countertop.
Color: Every swatch from each lipstick matched the color in the tube almost exactly. The color payoff is incredibly pigmented and has a pretty good wear time. I previously purchased '1995' from Gerard Cosmetics because it's a good dupe for that signature Kylie Lip (blog post here) and it lasts all day- I hardly ever touch up.
Formula: Creamy, buttery, yummy... every single lipstick swatched on my arm was so soft and smooth, they're not drying in the least- even after application. I usually prime my lips with baby lips or aquaphor while I'm getting ready so if I decide to go with a matte lipstick that day- my lips are prepped.
Should I go buy it? Yes. Yes. Yes. Invest in these lipsticks because the color payoff and creamy formula for the price of a drugstore lipstick needs to be on your countertop. I believe without the coupon code for this month, they retail for $15/each- the same price as MAC lipsticks... and well we all know I'm a mac gal so that's saying something :).
